You Tube Hype

You Tube and CNN--have they broken new ground in presidential politics, or is it just a big publicity stunt? Is the recent YouTube CNN Presidential debate one of the greatest advancements in Presidential politics?

The End on an Era

Bruce Plante's cartoon says it all, or does it?
Ward Crutchfield ended decades of leadership with a guilty plea to one count of bribery. Some leaders are expressing sorrow and support, some voters are saying good riddance. Regardless of where you stand, Senator Crutchfield provided years of leadership to Hamilton County, Tennessee--putting Chattanooga on the map in Nashville. With his loss there is a large void to fill--Chattanooga is losing a lot of influence in the state capital.
I have known Senator Crutchfield for years. During my association with him he was always supportive, he showed me true friendship. I was never given cause to doubt his honesty. As he announced his plea I was disappointed and dismayed.
It is hard to write about Senator Crutchfield's plea, it is hard to see a community leader end a distinuished career this way--all I can say now is "god's speed" Senator Crutchfield--this is one of those times where you look for the "foot prints in the sand" and they are missing, they are missing because God is carrying you.
We all must remember forgiveness is divine.

A Virus is Spreading

The Tennessee Waltz involved political corruption, our elected leaders taking bribes, accused of extortion--most of those involved in the Tennessee Waltz either pled guilty or were found guilty after a trial. All of those who have plead or been tried are paying the price; they are serving jail time and paying fines. No one is being pardoned, and no one is commuting the sentences of those convicted--the criminal justice system is holding politicians accountable.

Political Tom Foolery

Many Republicans want to change history due to a narrow minded view, an inability to accept other view, or the truth. Unfortunately, there are extremists in both political parties that are so locked into their view of the world, they want to re write history. That is why I remain flabbergasted at people who twist the facts to create untruths because they are angry. Some are attempting to blame Sheriff Billy Long for something that Republican County Mayor Claude Ramsey, and Republican County Commissioner Curtis Adams wants to do - increase your taxes.

Run Fred Run
Run Fred run-yes, I want Fred Thompson to run for President. I want him to announce now. I want him to be the leader of the pack; I want him out there talking about how he wants to return to the days of Ronald Reagan.

Americans First

Great American political rivals in life, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson died on the same day—July 4, 1826—the very day Americans were celebrating our nation’s 50th birthday. Suggesting their lifetime rivalry, Adams was alleged to whisper on his deathbed, “Thomas Jefferson survives.” But Jefferson had died a few hours before Adams died. Although the two were rivals until death, they were always Americans first and politicians second.

A Message to Ann Coulter: W is No FDR

Stuart James is Host of Free Speech America, Thursdays at 7pm on WGOW 102.3
Ann Coulter is a conservative political author and television personality. I could not believe my ears when I heard (on ABC News ) Ann Coulter compare George W. Bush's handling of the Iraqi war to Franklin Delano Roosevelt's handling of World War II. After hearing the comparison, I wondered what history book Ms. Coulter is reading--
